The Friends of the Col. Albert Pawling Memorial Park, or Pawling Park, is a community group dedicated to the promotion of the park and the Col. Albert Pawling Memorial Statue.
The Park is located at the intersection of Congress Street and Pawling Avenue in Troy, New York, and was created through a city resolution passed by the Troy City Council in July, 2014. The park was dedicated on April 14th, 2015.
The idea for a park was conceived during the Col. Albert Pawling Memorial Statue Project, and has been the home to the Col. Pawling Statue since its unveiling on April 15th, 2016. In addition, Pawling Park features cherry trees; a view of the Poestenkill Creek & Pawling Avenue’s early 19th century stone bridge; several 19th & 20th century cobblestones that outline Parling Park’s three beautiful flower gardens; and solar technology illuminating the Col. Albert Pawling Memorial Statue.
Since its dedication in 2015, the park has been used as a small recreational and relaxing site for the Troy citizens, and visitors.
The Friends of Pawling Park are governed by a nine member Board of Directors:
